| Re: Check engine light Teresakd3 15:30:22 |
| | We can not get the check engine light to go off. We hooked it up to the diagnostic machine. It said to replace the cam position sensor or the single circuit. This one does not have a cam position sensor. We checked the crank position sensor. What is the single circuit referring too? Has anyone else had this problem?

| 2003 Corolla drive belt tensioner bold head size? Ernie Sty 21:10:27 |
| | I'm going to have to replace the drive belt on my '03 Corolla soon. I understand that I have to move the belt tensioner in order to remove the old and install the new belt. What size if the bolt head that you turn to move the tensioner? I want to make sure I have the right socket before I get started. I plan on using a torque wrench to move the tensioner because it is basically a heavy duty wrench with a long handle, but if this is a bad idea I could just buy a long-handled wrench I guess...

| Headlight Kunal 15:59:21 |
| | Hi Guys,
My 94 Camry LE 4 cyl has 3 problems. I will describe all 3 in separate threads so that I can track them easily.
First problem is that the left headlight (lower) does not work. The upper one does work. I wonder if this is a DIY kinda of a job, i.e. to replace the bulb. What all tools would I need and how do I go about it? Reference to any website will also be fine.
I am not much of a DIY kinda guy, however I can manage small things like topping-off the oil or changing the wheel.
Thanks, -Kunal

| Smell in cabin, running out of ideas (pls help) Madison18 15:15:58 |
| | Hi all,
I just bought a used Toyota Camry 1997, LE, 4 Cylinders, 2.2L, with AC, 4 doors. It runs great and smooth and has only 70Kmi, no engine overheat problem. The only problem is anytime I drive it, I can smell a sweet smell in cabin (passenger compartment), then I have headache and bitter taste in my mouth. I brought the car to several repair shops but all said there is no problem (no leak) with the exhaust system or cooling system. The car has a new water pump.
Following are what I have done:
* Drain and flush coolant and put in new radiator and new radiator hoses and heater core hoses --> the smell persists. * Added Napa dye to coolant, drove the car for 2 days, and searched for leaks using a black light UV source --> no leak was found and the smell persists. * Put in 2 bottles of Bar's Leak Stop Leak (three times the recommended dose) --> the smell persists. * Removed the thermostat causing the temperature gauge showing cold all the driving times --> the smell persists. * Connected the two heater core hoses together so that no hot coolant could flow thru heater core in the cabin (i.e., bypassing the heater core) --> the smell persists.
Now, I can pop up the hood and see clearly the path along which the coolant flow but have no idea where the pin hole is.
I ran out of ideas, except the following: can it be a small crack in the engine block?
Please help.
Madison18.

how to remove the rear light bulb on 1989 Toyota Cressida? easyryder8 09:04:59 |
| | Does anyone know how to remove the rear light bulbs on 1989 Toyota Cressida? Have all the rear panels inside the trunk removed, could not find any bolts or screws attaching to the rear light assembly, except two plastic clips(on the left or right rear quarter panel) & two small screws underneath the black plastic molding(on the top of the rear light assembly), that's it. I used a pair of pliers to loose the clips from the left/right panels, also managed to loose the assembly a little bit, but not much and I don't want to force it out and break it, it'll probably cost me around US$150 - $200 easily. I need help, please. Your comments are much appreciated. TIA, with the best. |

| E85 conversion kits? Dan J.S. 23:53:24 |
| | Looking to convert all the rubber parts in my 2003 4Runner to the e85 compatible fuel parts (like stainless steel tubes, etc). E85 fuel by my house is $1.79 a gallon vs the 2.25 a gallon for the other stuff. With Goldman talking about $100 a barrel fuel prices, we might see 4-5 dollars a gallon fuel real soon. I want to jump on this and see if anyone knows if you can get this conversion done in the Chicago land area?

| help! no power to radio. Gretsch27 00:01:40 |
| | I have a 1995 Toyota Camry LE with radio and cassette player. I was installing a cd player my friend just gave me, but didn't disconnect the battery first. I hooked everything up, but didn't clamp the ground wires together. I just twisted them in case I had made a mistake. Naturally, they came apart and started arcing, so I disconnected everything. I clamped the wires and tried again, and got nothing. I put the old radio back in and it didn't work. For some reason there is no power getting to it. Checked the fuses in the panel by my left knee, and the driver side kick panel. They are all fine. Have not checked the fuses under the hood. Could there be another fuse somewhere? Also, my cigarette lighter stopped working when my friends tried to run two laptops off of it. The radio and the cigarette lighter have the same fuse. Not sure if these two things are related. Any ideas?

Power Steering Dilema Cheyenne 19:48:41 |

My celica is continuously leaking 2 fluids. most important is the power steering fluid. I'm having to refill about every 3-4 days! AK! My dad says he thinks he can fix it, but he's one of those wants to be macho gear head who REALLY knows nothing. Even I (who has only learned from my grease monkey boyfriends) that his explanation is all BS. However I don't want to offend him by taking it to a shop! So is there any suggestions as to whats wrong, or if it's pry minor enough to trust my idiot father with the problem? |
